Description: Seria „Prace Slawistyczne. Slavica” ukazuje się od 1977 roku. Jest najstarszą istniejącą serią w Instytucie Slawistyki Polskiej Akademii Nauk, wydawaną najpierw przez Zakład Narodowy im. Ossolińskich, następnie od 1991 roku przez nowo powstałe wydawnictwo IS PAN (Slawistyczny Ośrodek Wydawniczy). W serii dominują monografie językoznawcze, ale publikowane są również prace dotyczące badań literackich. W latach 1977–2025 ukazało się 157 tomów serii. Od 2021 roku seria jest indeksowana w bazie SCOPUS.Appearing since 1977, the series Prace Slawistyczne. Slavica [Monographs in Slavic Studies. Slavica] is the longest-running series of the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, initially published by the Ossoliński National Institute (Ossolineum), and then since 1991 by the newly-established ISS PAS publishing house (SOW). The series brings together monographs predominantly in linguistics but also in literary studies. 157 volumes appeared between 1977 and 2025. Polish Distinguishing Particles: A Semantic Study

Abstract

Książka ta ma na celu weryfikację dotychczasowej wiedzy na temat metatekstu, a więc jednostek językowych, których odniesieniem nie jest świat pozajęzykowy, a wyrażenia języka, elementy komunikowanej wiedzy i/lub nadawca komunikatu. Weryfikację przeprowadzono na przykładzie sposobów, jak akty mowy kształtowane są przez partykuły. W studium przyjmuję założenie Jadwigi Wajszczuk, że partykuły to parataktemy – jednostki językowe niepodlegające składni zależności, wchodzące zaś w relacje kookurencji: jednostki, których nie wymagają inne elementy zdania i które same nie stawiają żadnych gramatycznych lub semantycznych wymagań wobec swoich kookurentów. Partykuły komentują rematyczną część zdania, która jest określana prozodycznie (przede wszystkim za sprawą akcentu zdaniowego).
This study is an attempt to review current knowledge of the metatext, i.e. language units that have reference not to the world but to linguistic expressions, elements of communicated knowledge and/or the speaker. The review was carried out based on the example of ways in which speech acts are shaped by particles. The study adopts the understanding of this class proposed by Jadwiga Wajszczuk. In her conceptualisation, particles are paratactems – units that are not bound by syntactic dependencies but create relationships of co-occurrence, in other words, units that are not required by any element of a sentence and do not require any specific grammatical or semantic features from the elements they co-occur with. Particles comment on the rhematic part of a sentence, the part that is designated prosodically (primarily by sentence stress).
