Description: Tytuły wydawane w serii „Kultura na Pograniczach”, ukazującej się od 2005 roku, prezentują wyniki najnowszych badań naukowych nad zagadnieniami tożsamości zbiorowych kształtujących się w warunkach kontaktu międzykulturowego. Problematyka pograniczy kulturowych, nacjonalizmów, wyobrażeń zbiorowych i dyskursów zajmuje autorów publikujących w serii zarówno w perspektywie historycznej (od średniowiecza po współczesność), jak i geokulturowej (kultura Polski i Słowiańszczyzny na tle europejskim). Differentia specifica serii stanowi jej interdyscyplinarność: autorami „Kultury na Pograniczach” są historycy, antropolodzy społeczno-kulturowi, socjolodzy, językoznawcy, kulturoznawcy i literaturoznawcy. W latach 2005–2025 ukazało się 19 tomów serii.The works published, since 2005, in the Kultura na Pograniczach [Borderland Cultures] series present results of newest research on the issues of collective identities forming in the conditions of intercultural contact. The problems of cultural borderlands, nationalisms, collective representations and ideas, and discourses are approached by the authors from historical (medieval to contemporary) and geo-cultural (Polish and Slavic cultures against a European background) perspectives. The series’ differentia specifica is its interdisciplinarity: the Borderland Cultures authors are historians, socio-cultural anthropologists, sociologists, linguists, as well as cultural and literary studies scholars. 19 volumes appeared in the series between 2005 and 2025.Redaktor Naczelna / Editor-in-Chief Prof. dr hab. Description

This book is a result of fieldwork undertaken for the project “Anthropology of Continuity and Change: Macedonian Poreče 80 Years after Józef Obrębski's research” implemented at the University of Warsaw in the years 2012–2013. Our aim was to create a contemporary monograph on Poreče through critical analysis of collected field material, by posing the same or similar questions as Obrębski did 80 years ago. The research focused primarily on subjects explored by Obrębski, for instance family, yearly rituals, religion, magic, or the position of women in the rural society. Secondly we investigated new topics like the political, economic, and social changes related to the collapse of Yugoslavia and the painful transition process in Macedonia (from the Foreword by Karolina Bielenin-Lenczowska and Anna Engelking).
